Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas Kick Off the Holiday Season with Back to Back Shows at El Club

Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas are what we in the music business call "road warriors". They spend most of the year traveling around the world playing live shows and large festivals. Then, once a year they triumphantly return to Detroit to play a homecoming show, sometime during the holiday season. This year the band is right in the middle of writing and recording their next full length album which will be out next year. But, they will taking a break to play back to back shows at El Club, Detroit's newest rock club located right in the heart of none other than Mexican Town Detroit, a place where Jessica herself has some pretty deep roots.

We reached out to Jessica and met her on a beautiful fall day to talk to her about her career, the shows, and the band's upcoming album. Check out what the recently married feisty little feminist had to say and then come out to see her perform live this Thursday and Friday at El Club. She has promised us that both nights she will be playing completely different sets, so if you love her as much as we do, there really is no reason not to come out for both shows. Empty House will be opening the show on Thursday night and The Messenger Birds will open on Friday.

Tickets to get into each of the shows are $15 and they can be purchased in advance here. We also have one pair of tickets to give away to the show courtesy of Black Iris Booking. If you would like to enter to win a pair of tickets to Thursday or Friday night, please email hipindetroit@gmail.com with the subject line #thursday or #friday. We will draw one lucky winner each day and will email that person details on how to claim their prize.
