Detroit is becoming a dining mecca, there seems to be a new place to eat every week and most of the places are at least decent, if not out right amazing. There is a new found appreciation for gourmet food and cocktails throughout the city. We have a whole new group of Detroit foodies that are constantly looking to try something new.
This week we found something very special for all of those foodies. This is a one night only opportunity to taste something special made by chef Jesse Knott. You may remember his name from a little show called Top Chef where he made a reputation for himself by coming up with edgy and new food concepts. He even put a twist on the traditional Detroit Coney by creating his own version called the "Machu Picchu" that boasted a Peruvian twist (lots of Green sauce) to the classic dog.
This Thursday, Febuary 12th Knott will set up shop at Checker Bar’s newest creation, POP. This is a second floor venue that features local chefs every Thursday evening in addition to a hand-crafted speciality cocktail and wine menu by bar manager, Anthony Henderson. Doors for this one night only pop up event will open at 7 p.m. POP is located at 124 Cadillac Square. This is a great way to try something new, exclusive, and fun!
