Open a book, start a revolution

Celebrate your freedom to read during Banned Books Week at Always Brewing Detroit this Tuesday, September 23rd from 5 to 7 p.m. Proprietor Amanda Brewington, in cooperation with the American Library Association @ Wayne Student Chapter, will host a banned book-themed open mic night. Bring your favorite banned book and share an excerpt with a captive audience of future librarians and caffeine addicts. Started in 1982 by the American Library Association, BBW "highlights the value of free and open access to information". Click here to check out the top ten challenged books, by year.
