Friday, August 8th - Shadow Show @ UFO Bar: Shadow Show hits the stage at UFO Bar this Friday night! Joining them are Mod Lang, Mirror Mask, and DJ Ben Van Camp (MRKT). Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance here. Things kick off at 8 PM and 21+ are welcome. 

Saturday, August 9th - The Messenger Birds @ The Loving Touch: The Messenger Birds have a new Grammy Award Winning Album out now! This Saturday night they're celebrating this big release at The Loving Touch, joining them are Bad Magnets and Gloomco. Tickets are $26.49 in advance and they can be purchased here. Saturday, August 9th - Reware Vintage Anniversary Party: One of our favorite stores, Reware Vintage, is celebrating its 20th Anniversary! They're throwing a big ol' bash this Saturday night and you're invited! The first 20 shoppers will receive a $20 gift card, plus everyone will receive 20% off all day & night. There will also be great music from The Amino Acids, Big Life, Something is Waiting, and MEEK. Friday, August 8th & Saturday, August 9th - Detroit Improv Festival: The Detroit Improv Festival takes over Downtown Ferndale this weekend! The fest kicked off Wednesday and runs through Saturday, bringing comedians and improv acts to The Orchid Theatre, The Magic Bag, and Go Comedy! Roadkill Nights Returns to Pontiac this Weekend

Roadkill Nights returns to the streets of Downtown Pontiac this Saturday night! Now in its 10th year, the one day event will feature drag racing, classic & modern muscle cars on display, exhibition runs on the drag strip, car culture influencers & celebrities, and more. Basically, it's every car enthusiasts dream! On top of the wheels, there will also be family friendly activities, food trucks, and vendors.

The event goes from 10 AM - 9 PM and tickets start at just $25, plus kids 12 & under get in free. Get your tickets here.

Friday, August 1st - The Lucid Furs @ Flamingo Vintage: It's the first Friday of the month and that means it's time to head to Flamingo Vintage! This month, their First Fridays show features The Lucid Furs and Sonic Smut. Cover is $5, BYOB, and bring some extra spending money because they're offering 20% off storewide. Things kick off at 8:30 PM. 

Friday, August 1st - Comedy @ The Congregation: This Friday is comedy night at the Congregation! Get ready to laugh your butt off because Chloe Mikala is hitting the stage along with Brett Mercer and Rio Riojas! Sarah Lynn will be your host for the evening. Doors open at 7 PM and the show starts at 7:30 PM. Don't be late! Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Get tickets and more info here. 

Friday, August 1st - Gusher @ 27th Letter Books/Gingko Records: We've told you to go see Gusher lots of other times before and here's another great chance! Friday night they will be playing 27th Letter Books/Gingko Records along with WRKT.FM and Day Residue. Doors open at 8 PM and Gusher is kicking off the show, so get there early! Cover is $10 at the door.

Saturday, August 2nd - Hamtramck Night Bazaar: Head to the Pope this Saturday night for the Hamtramck Night Bazaar. This monthly market will feature vendors selling everything from vintage wares to food at Pope Park in Hamtramck. The market is open from 4 PM - 9 PM. So head down before you go out for the night or make an afternoon of it. 

Sunday, August 3rd - Corktown Farm & Flea: Across town, there's another market and this one is open weekly! The Corktown Farm & Flea takes place on Sundays from 9 AM - 4 PM at Summertown. This week's market will feature about a dozen vendors selling produce, honey, clothing, and even doing Tarot readings. Check out the full list of vendors here.
