Saturday, May 31st & Sunday, June 1st - Tied Down Detroit: The ultimate hardcore fest returns to the Russell Industrial Center this weekend and somehow it's even better this year! Tied Down Detroit takes over the Russell Saturday and Sunday. There are over 30 bands on the bill, and the one and only Turnstile is headlining it all! Check out the full lineup here. Saturday, May 31st - Hell Camino Launch Party @ Cvrses: One of our favorite people is launching a new company and this Saturday he's throwing a big party to celebrate! Mike Moore (Ironclad Tattoo Co.) has a new candle company, Hell Camino. The company features five crafted scents, including the signature scent of Ironclad. Check them out for yourself this Saturday night from 7 PM - 11 PM at Cvrses in Ferndale. And you can bet, there will be amazing craft cocktails and heavy tunes all night! After the party ends at Cvrses, head over to the afterparty at Happy Endings at Eastern Palace Club and get loose on the dancefloor.
Saturday, May 31st - Ferndale Pride: Kick of Pride Month at one of the biggest and best Pride Festivals in the area; Ferndale Pride! The festival takes place this Saturday on the west side of Woodward on 9 Mile in Downtown Ferndale. The day kicks off at 12:30 PM with the opening ceremony. Friday, May 16th - Ryan Allen LP Release Show @ Bowlero: Ryan Allen has a new solo project! And he's celebrating the release of his new LP this Friday night! You may know Ryan from bands like Thunderbirds Are Now and Extra Arms. The new album, Livin On A Prayer On The Edge, is out now on Setterwind Records.Give it a listen here. For Friday's show, Ryan will be joined by his live band, The Full Court Press. Also on the bill are John Nolan and Evin R. Daniels. Cover is free and doors open at 8 PM.
Friday, May 16th & Saturday, May 17th - Panic in Detroit @ The Old Miami: Head to The Old Miami this Friday & Saturday night for the first ever Panic in Detroit, filling the void left by the former Panic in Hamtramck! The fest features over fifteen bands over two nights, with Human Eye, Detroit 442, Brood X, Fen Fen, and Eck! on the bill. Check out the full lineup and set times here. Saturday, May 17th - The Ferndale Flea @ Vogue Vintage: Saturday is Vintage Store Day and the perfect way to celebrate is by attending The Ferndale Flea! Held in the parking lot of Vogue Vintage at 2141 Hilton Rd. in Ferndale, this event features over 20 of Detroit's best and favorite vintage and antique vendors There will also be special in shop deals and discounts, a food truck, music, and a prize wheel! Admission is free and the market is open from 9 AM - 4 PM.
Saturday, May 17th - Local Supporting Local Fest: Another great way to celebrate Vintage Store Day is by heading to Reware Vintage on Saturday. They will be one of the venues for Local Supporting Local Fest, along with Flipside Records and Gatekeepers, all located in Berkley. Each venue will have 4 bands and $15 gets you in to see all of them! Things kick off at Flipside at 3 PM, then Reware at 6 PM, and finally head to Gatekeepers at 8 PM. (P.S. Reware has a great show Friday night too!)
Saturday, May 17th - Joey Ramone Birthday Bash @ Small's: Joey Ramone's Birthday is coming up on Monday and a bunch of bands are getting together this Saturday to celebrate! The party is happening at Small's and will feature music from The Ram-On’s (Ramones Tribute), Greg and the Degens (Ramones Tribute), Ramoaning (Ramones Tribute), Suburban Delinquents, Love Fool, and Moronic Device. Cover is $15 and doors open at 7 PM.
