Hip in Detroit's Picks for the Weekend - October 14-16

 

Saturday, October 15th - 2022 Detroit Subgenius Devival @ Small's: Head to Small's this Saturday for a night of live music and rants at the 2022 Subgenius Thing. The lineup for the evening includes music from The Amino Acids and The Altruistic Perverts Tribute to DEVO. Then there will be rants throughout the evening from special guests and attendees. In fact, if you'd like to rant about something, you too can sign up here. Doors open at 9 p.m. 21+ are welcome and $10 gets you in the door. 


Saturday, October 15th - The Idiot Kids and Carmel Liburdi @ Bowlero: Bowlero has another awesome show lined up for you this weekend! Saturday night, head to the lounge for The Idiot Kids and Carmel Liburdi. Cover is free, 18+ are welcome, and the fun starts at 9 p.m. 



Sunday, October 16th - Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie! Record Show @ The Sanctuary: The Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie! Record Show returns to The Sanctuary in Hamtramck this weekend! This event will feature "tons of vendors" selling "thousands of items"! There will be records, music memorabilia, CDs, t-shirts, and more. Get a sneak peek of some of the items that will be up for grabs here. The record show goes from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. All ages are welcome and the bar will be open for those 21+. 


Friday, October 14th - Sunday, October 16th - Pig & Whiskey: The streets of Downtown Ferndale will be filled with whiskey and BBQ this weekend for the annual Pig & Whiskey festival. The event also features live music and this year the lineup is pretty stellar! It includes Tunde Olaniran, Handgrenades, DUDE, Local H, Ohly, Hala, and more. Check out the full lineup here. Admission is free. Pig & Whiskey is open from 6 p.m. - midnight on Friday, 11 a.m. - midnight on Saturday, and 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. on Sunday.
