Hip in Detroit's Picks for the Weekend - May 27-30

Saturday, May 28th - Monday, May 30th - Movement @ Hart Plaza: Techno returns to Detroit this weekend because Movement is back! Electronic music will once again take over Hart Plaza (as well as most of the bars and venues in Detroit) for the weekend. The festival will take place Saturday, Sunday, and Monday and will feature over 110 acts on 6 stages. Checkout the full lineup here. Friday, May 27th - Monday, May 30th - Monroe Street Midway Opening Weekend: Monroe Street Midway is returning to the area across from Campus Martius this summer and the gates officially open this Friday! Roller skate, shoot hoops, grab food from a food truck, play mini golf, and more at this fun urban oasis. This weekend, there will also be DJs and artists, with performances by DJ Nick Speed, DJ WAX-TAX-N DRE, DJ Sheefy McFly, and DJ Sky Jetta. Get the full rundown of events for this weekend here. Saturday, May 28th - Vintage Alley @ Vintage Eastern Market: 
Vintage vendors take over the alley behind Vintage Eastern Market every Saturday again this summer! Before or after you shop the goods inside the store, shop with special vendors out back from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Vintage Alley kicked off their 2022 season a few weeks ago and now things are in full swing! Vintage Eastern Market is located at 1515 Division Street in the Eastern Market District in Detroit. 


Saturday, May 28th - Friends of the Underground Fest: 
 Some of your favorite local artists will be playing acoustic sets outside this Saturday for Friends of the Underground Fest, presented by The Pleasant Underground. The lineup includes a dozen artists, with acts like Pancho Villa's Skull and Ryan Allen on the bill. There will also be tacos available all day. Admission is free. The fun goes from 2 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.


Sunday, May 29th - DRUNKBRUNCH @ Mix Bricktown: Sip on Mimosas and Bloody Marys while you eat brunch and listen to DJs at the 10th Annual Drunk Brunch this Sunday! This event will take place inside and outside at Mix Bricktown. The event takes place from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. and pricing is as follows: 

$40.00- BRUNCH w/ BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS/BLOODY MARY
$27.00- BRUNCH ONLY
$25.00- BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS/BLOODY MARY ONLY. FREE ENTRY

Sunday, May 29th - New Found Glory @ ROMT: Take a trip down memory lane and celebrate 20 years of Sticks & Stones with New Found Glory this Sunday night! The band will be playing Royal Oak Music Theatre with Four Year Strong and Be Well. Tickets start at $32.50 and can be purchased here.
