Hip in Detroit's Picks for the Weekend: January 7-9

Friday, January 7th - Rough Patch & Detroit 442 @ The Painted Lady: It's Anne (Rough Patch) and Lacy's (Detroit 42) birthdays and they're playing a show together at The Painted Lady! We've been fans of Rough Patch since we saw them play with The Suicide Machines this Halloween and Detroit 442 always puts on a good show. Rough Patch plays at 11:30 p.m. and Detroit 442 hits the stage at midnight.

Friday, January 7th - Godzilla vs. Kong @ Monroe Street Drive-In: You might not feel comfortable going to a movie theatre, but watching a movie on your couch gets old after awhile. Watch the ultimate battle, Godzilla vs. Kong, from behind your windshield at Monroe Street Drive-In this Friday night. Tickets are $20 per car and can be purchased here. The movie starts at 7 p.m.

Friday, January 7th - The Cryptics @ The Sanctuary w/ Bad Assets and more: The Sanctuary has a great lineup this Friday night! The Cryptics will be playing along with Bad Assets, Come Out Fighting, Randy Bastards, and The DDTs. All ages are welcome and tickets are $12. Get yours here.

Saturday, January 8th - The Muggs & Eastside Elvis @ Cadieux Cafe: Head to the eastside to catch Eastside Elvis and The Muggs at Cadieux Cafe Saturday night! This is another birthday show because they will be celebrating the birth of The King himself, Elvis Presley. Since you can't celebrate with him, celebrate with Eastside Elvis instead. Cover is only $10 and doors open at 7 p.m.
