Snag a Pair of Tickets to the First Ever Pizza Throwdown

Last year, Slow Roll Co-Founder Jason Hall made a pledge to eat pizza every day for an entire year. He called his journey Pizza 365, and he stuck to it. Jason shared his daily choices on social media, ranging from classics like Buddy's Pizza to the occasional slice from Whole Foods in Detroit. After eating pizza every day for an entire year, he touched every corner on the pizza spectrum here in Detroit and we can definitely say, this guy knows his pizza.

So, it seems only fitting that after eating pizza for 365 days, Hall would want to eat more pizza! He is one of the people behind a new event that revolves around this delicious cheesy meal, sharing some of the best pizza joints in Detroit with thousands of people all under roof. The event is being called The Pizza Throwdown and it's happening on Sunday, February 11th in Shed 5 at the Eastern Market

"The event is the opportunity for pizza connoisseurs from all over to share stories and adventures that they’ve had through pizza and to experience all the creativity that truly goes into pizza." With paid admission, you will get to sample 5 sample size slices, from a selection of some of the best pizzerias around. Additional full slices will be available for purchase, as well as drinks at a full bar. There will be tunes provided by DJ Tom T and the shed will be full of delicious smells and people that love pizza. What could be better?

Tickets for the Pizza Throwdown start at just $15 and are available in advance here. Soon, the price will increase to $20 though, once the limited amount of early bird tickets sell out. So make sure you snag your tickets up sooner rather than later! We are also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky reader, so you and your friend can get into this awesome pizza party for free! To enter, send your name to hipindetroit@gmail.com with #pizza in the subject line.

If there's anything we know for sure about Jason Hall, this guy knows his stuff about pizza and he knows how to bring a crowd together. So we're sure The Pizza Throwdown will be epic!
