The Detroiters Premiere at The DIA this Saturday

In 2016 a Columbian spoken word collective called Caldodecultivo was invited to Detroit by Idea City to participate in a residency at Pops Packing. While they were here they filmed a documentary about Detroit. This film challenges the idea of Detroit being a hopeless city, a "ghost city", or a city in "ruin".

The film will premiere at The DIA this Saturday, June 22nd and it will be followed up by a question and answer session with the artists to discuss their work. The Detroit Film Theatre is located at 5200 Woodward Ave.Detroit, Michigan 48202. This premiere is free to attend if you can get a ticket. The film starts at 6 p.m. this Saturday and it is first to come first serve. If you miss the premiere there will be a following up showing the following day at 4 p.m.This showing is also free but there will not be questions and answer session with the artists at the second showing.
