Win Tickets to See Go Tiger Go and Friends at the Lager House

Go Tiger Go will be playing at PJ's Lager House on Saturday, July 9th and they've put together a lineup that you won't want to miss! It includes The Messenger Birds, Garbage Tornado and The Five Piece Problem. You've heard us talk about 3 of these 4 bands quite a bit lately. The Five Piece Problem just had their first show a couple of months ago. We chatted with GTG before they released their newest album, Eating Berries in the Dark. And The Messenger Birds are a rockin' duo that we can't get enough of. The only one of these bands that we haven't heard much about yet is Garbage Tornado. We're looking forward to hearing more from them and checking out their debut album that should be out sometime this summer.

Admission to this great show is only $5 and doors are set to open at 8 p.m. If you're feeling lucky, we're also giving away a couple of pairs of tickets to this show! If you would like to enter to win, please send your name to hipindetroit@gmail.com with GTG in the subject line. We will draw two lucky winners the day of the show and they'll get in the door for free with a +1.

PJ's Lager House is located in Corktown at 1254 Michigan Ave. For more info on this show, click here.

Win Tickets to a Great Show Friday Night at the Lager House!

This Friday, March 13th head to PJ's Lager House for a night of great music! The lineup includes Andy & the Pandy's, The Bruised Reed, Garbage Tornado and Earth Engine, 4 solid Detroit bands.

Chances are, you probably have heard of Andy & the Pandy's before. Fronted by Andy Maitland, this group has been active in the Detroit music scene for years now. They just released a new album a few months ago entitled It Only Gets Darker. You can listen to that on their bandcamp here.

Speaking of new music, The Bruised Reed just released some new music too! We first told you about The Bruised Reed last year when they played their first show. Although they have been a band for a while, they haven't released much music in the past few years. The two new tracks, "Leave the Light On" and "This Is Wrong", are the first volume of a series they are calling "Doubles". You can check them out on Soundcloud here.

You may have seen Earth Engine last week at The Hamtramck Music Festival or Garbage Tornado at The Streetlight Series at DIME. But, if you haven't heard these two bands yet, you can check them out here and here.

Admission to Friday's show is only $5 and 21+ are welcome. We are also getting a couple of people into this show with a friend for free! To enter to win, email your name to hipindetroit@gmail.com with Friday at the Lager House in the subject. We will draw two winners the morning of the show and let them know how to claim their prize.

Doors are set to open at 8 p.m. on Friday. PJ's Lager House is located at 1254 Michigan Ave. in Corktown in Detroit. For more details on this show, click here.
