Support Hip in Detroit – Become a Sponsor or Supporter in July!

Do you believe in shopping local, supporting small businesses, uplifting community voices, and celebrating the DIY spirit?

If you answered yes, you already believe in Hip in Detroit — and we need your help to keep it going strong.

13 Years of Keeping It Hip

Since 2012, Hip in Detroit has been your go-to source for discovering what's new, fun, and uniquely Detroit. From concerts to coffee shops, restaurants to retail, we’ve spent over a decade sharing the people, places, and events that make this city incredible. We're proud to be a platform built on passion, authenticity, and positivity — and we’re just getting started.

But like everything worth doing, it takes a little help behind the scenes.

July Is Sponsorship Month

Every July, we open the door to new sponsors and supporters. This annual tradition helps us cover the costs of running Hip in Detroit — things like hosting our website, podcast production, editing software, gear, and other tools that keep this DIY dream alive.

If you’re a local business or organization, we’d love to promote you as an official Hip in Detroit Sponsor. Sponsorship is just $50 for the entire year, and your name/logo will be featured on our website and regularly across our stories and social content.

Want to Support as an Individual?

We get it — not everyone owns a business, but that doesn’t mean you can’t help. If you’re a fan of what we do and want to pitch in, there are easy ways to support us directly:

No matter how you choose to support, it keeps us going and means the world to us.

Who We Are

Hip in Detroit is run by two lifelong friends — Christie Laabs and Sadie Quagliotto — who’ve shared a passion for music, food, fashion, and community for over 25 years. Together, we’ve built a positive, welcoming space that focuses on what we love in Metro Detroit. You won’t find snark, gossip, or clickbait here — just authentic stories and recommendations from two people who genuinely love this city.

What We Do

We post regularly on our blog hipindetroit.com and across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Threads, X (Twitter), and Facebook. We share:

  • Interviews and features
  • Ticket giveaways (We love sharing our love of music and getting people into shows for free!)
  • Event calendar
  • Restaurant and retail highlights
  • Podcast episodes
  • Monthly WDET segments with Ann Delisi
  • Videos, reels, and on-the-ground coverage of what's happening in the city

Our mission is to keep people connected to the community, support small business, and inspire readers to explore something new.

We Want to Hear From You

This is your Detroit too. As we plan the next year of Hip in Detroit, we’d love to know what you want to see more of:

  • More live footage?
  • More interviews with bands and artists?
  • More restaurant reviews?
  • More deep dives into places that we love?
  • Podcast episodes on specific topics?

Email us, DM us, or comment on social — we're all ears.

Ready to sponsor or support us?

📩 Email us at hipindetroit@gmail.com and we’ll send you the details. You can pay via PayPal, Venmo, cash, check, or gold (ok, maybe not the last one).

💬And if you’ve got something cool coming up — an event, a new product, a grand opening — let us know! We’re always looking for great stories to tell.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Here's to another year of keeping it hip in Detroit.

With love & gratitude
~S&C
