Hip In Detroit's Picks for the Weekend: September 22-24

We already told you about the DIY Street Fair and all of the fun happening in Ferndale this weekend! Here are some other fun things that you should check out.

Saturday, September 23rd - Cat Party @ Tangent Gallery: The third annual Cat Party will take over Tangent Gallery this Saturday afternoon! Punx for Paws will bring together over a dozen bands, DJs, vendors, and more to raise money for local cats. The lineup includes bands like Hillbilly Knife Fight, Death Cat, Jeta, Solar Drip, Fake ICP, and more. Plus KO Prints will be on site screen printing shirts, there will be food, raffles, magic, comedy, and a whole lot of fun. Cover is $20 and proceeds from this event will benefit Detroit Alley Cats and All About Animals. The fun goes from 2 p.m. - 2 a.m.

Saturday, September 23rd - Motor City Haunt Club's Haunted Garage Sale: Spooky season is right around the corner, or for some of us it's already here! Spruce up your decorations and get in the spirit at the 18th annual Haunted Garage Sale! The event will take place at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn and admission is only $5. Once you're inside, shop with vendors "offering handmade, new and used goods to haunt your home, decorate for your Halloween bash, or add to your existing collection". Over 70 vendors will be in attendance, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to shop! The sale goes from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Sunday, September 24th - Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie Record Show @ The Sanctuary: A couple of times a year, the Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie Record Show takes over The Sanctuary and one of those times is this Sunday. Head to Hamtramck to shop some of the best record collections in the area along with music and movie memorabilia and other cool stuff. Admission is free, all ages are welcome, and the fun goes from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. For those that are 21+, the bar will be open too, if you want to sip while you shop.
