It's Time to Party in Honor of Allee Willis

Allie Willis was a Detroit legend. She spent her childhood hanging around Motown Records before launching a lifelong career as an artist-writer and performer. When she passed away on Christmas Eve 2019, the music world lost one of its best. Thankfully, during her too-short time on this Earth, she wrote songs that will live on forever. This includes tracks like Earth, Wind & Fire's "September" and The Rembrandt's "I'll Be There For You" a.k.a. The Friends' theme song. She even celebrated her love for the city by releasing "The D" a tribute to Detroit at the DIA in 2017. Allie was an inspiring woman who knew how to make people dance and have a good time. She also knew how to bring people together.

So, in honor of her life, Empty Bowls Detroit and Apropos have teamed up with the Eastern Market to host an afternoon of food, bowl painting, and entertainment in honor of Allie. 100% of proceeds raised by Empty Bowls Detroit benefit the food program at Cass Community Social Services and proceeds from the party will be dedicated In Memory of Allee Willis. Tickets to attend the event are $20 a piece and they can be purchased here. You can learn more about Allee here and stay up to date on the event here.
