Saturday, August 9th - The Messenger Birds @ The Loving Touch: The Messenger Birds have a new Grammy Award Winning Album out now! This Saturday night they're celebrating this big release at The Loving Touch, joining them are Bad Magnets and Gloomco. Tickets are $26.49 in advance and they can be purchased here. Saturday, August 9th - Reware Vintage Anniversary Party: One of our favorite stores, Reware Vintage, is celebrating its 20th Anniversary! They're throwing a big ol' bash this Saturday night and you're invited! The first 20 shoppers will receive a $20 gift card, plus everyone will receive 20% off all day & night. There will also be great music from The Amino Acids, Big Life, Something is Waiting, and MEEK. Friday, August 8th & Saturday, August 9th - Detroit Improv Festival: The Detroit Improv Festival takes over Downtown Ferndale this weekend! The fest kicked off Wednesday and runs through Saturday, bringing comedians and improv acts to The Orchid Theatre, The Magic Bag, and Go Comedy! Friday, July 25th - Eye Love Art Exhibit @ The Loving Touch: The Loving Touch is hosting an art show this Friday night! There will be makers, specialty cocktails, and all vinyl DJ sets. Some of the artists that will be featured include Muraleater, HELLCAMINO, Idilico Jewelry, and more. Admission is free, and doors open at 7 PM.
Friday, July 25th - Blackout BBQ @ The Magic Stick: Black Iris Booking brings Blackout BBQ back to the Magic Stick this Friday night! Saturday, July 19th - Zug Isle Tiki: Head downriver this Saturday for a Tiki party! Carbon Athletic Club is celebrating their 78th anniversary and they're throwing a big bash! There will be live music, fried bologna sandwiches, and you can even get unlimited PBR & Strohs (for an extra cost). The lineup includes Child Bite, Day Residue, Deadbeat Beat, Duende, and more. Saturday, July 5th - Freak For All: There will be short bikes, tall bikes, big bikes, small bikes! Bikes of all shapes and sizes will take over Lincoln Street Art Park this Saturday for the Detroit Freak for All. Put on by Detroit Freak Bike, the event will feature custom-built bikes, rolling sculptures, whacky creations and whimsical art! Freakbikes, Art Cars, Custom Bicycles, Sculpture, Visual Arts, and all things weird and whacky. It's free to attend, all are welcome, and the fun goes from 3-9 PM. After 9, the party moves inside Lincoln Factory, with live music from Glass Chimera, Gusher, and Matthew Teardrop Orchestra. There will also be DJs too! Get all of the details here.
