Experience Eastern Market After Dark This Thursday

It’s almost time for one of the best nights in Detroit—Eastern Market After Dark is back on Thursday, September 18th! This free, once-a-year event transforms the Eastern Market District into a nighttime celebration of art, music, food, and community. Expect DJs, food trucks, vendors, and your favorite local businesses keeping their doors open late.

This year also marks the return of Murals in the Market. Starting on September 15th, artists began painting massive new murals across the district, and they’ll keep at it until the 22nd. That means you can see the work in progress during After Dark—or stop by later in the week to check out the finished pieces. Look out for some of our favorites like Kelly Golden and Sheefy McFly bringing their signature styles to Detroit’s walls.

And of course, it wouldn’t be Eastern Market After Dark without some great food. Be sure to swing by DeVries & Co. 1887, where Carlos from Aunt NeNe’s will be serving up his legendary Raclette Nachos (yep, the ones with melty cheese scraped right before your eyes).
